If you have had a test requested by your GP, you can receive the results:

For some test results, you may receive a text message unless you have opted out of this service.

When will my results be available?

Most blood tests will be available within 7 days.

Most X-ray results are back within 7-10 days.

Most NHS screening tests (cervical / breast / bowel screening) will be sent directly by post via the national screening service.

What do my results mean?

For most scans and blood tests, there will be some minor abnormalities which are not significant.  Your GP will review your results before they are released to you and identify if any action needs to be taken.  This may mean that you have a ‘high’ or ‘low’ test result on your NHS app, but your GP marks the result as ‘normal’ as the result is not medically significant.  If you would like to discuss results further with your GP, please book a routine appointment.
