ECGs

An ECG is a test performed by our nurses. It checks the electrical activity of the heart.  It involves a 20 minute appointment with the nurse. The nurse will attach stickers to your chest which are connected to the ECG machine. The machine then produces a tracing of the electrical signals in the heart.  The tracing will be reviewed by one of the doctors after the appointment.  If the doctor feels there is a significant abnormality, you would be asked to book an appointment to discuss the results.

All ECGs must be requested by a doctor, they cannot be booked without discussion. If you feel you need to have an ECG please book a routine appointment to discuss this with your doctor.

Please see our test results section for more information about accessing ECG results.
